December 31st 2007

Tomorrow is a new year, and, I hope, the beginning of my Disney adventure. As of right now, I have only just started the application process- on the 19th of December I sent in my resume and cover letter to Cast-A-Way cruise and resort hiring- the agency that hires for Disney from Canada. On the 21st, I recieved a reply that Eric from the agency could not open my resume, and so I resent it as the email (as opposed to as an attachment). Eric's email also asked me to leave a voice mail with my phone number and a good time to reach me-- which of course I hope means that I'll receive a call in the new year for a phone interview. My first choice is working as a character. From what I can gather about this 'role' at Disney, most summer people are furry characters, as in they wear the full body costumes of the animated characters (which I am fine with!) however, upon arrival you must go through an audition which is to see if you are parade material. Since I have dance/performing experience, I am kind of hoping to be in the parades, but obviously, I would be happy with anything. So, in the meantime, I am reading everything possible about working for the mouse- The best websites seem to be www.wdwip.com and disneyinternationalprograms.com. So far, my parents seem supportive of the idea of me working at Disney, although perhaps a bit skeptical about my chances of getting the job. Though I did get a very large and bright suitcase for christmas which would be perfect for packing for a certain summer experience....
